FSC Certification

The Forest Stewardship Council certified Heritage Lumber as the first major supplier of forest products in Idaho that met their high quality standards. This honor, received in 2003, came via the SmartWood Program of The Rainforest Alliance. Every year since, we've worked hard to achieve continuing certification. Today, our certification is through Science Certifications System. FSC chain-of-custody means nothing less than fully certified lumber, recycled/reclaimed woods and high quality milled timbers.

Third-Party certification means that Heritage Lumber provides certified wood, an environmentally credible product through independent verification. Our quality is regulated by a clear process that demands our continuing commitment to progressive lumber business practices.

FSC is the gold standard for environmentally conscious lumber mills. The agency has stringent social, economic, and environmental standards, fostering true forest sustainability in an industry often vilified by radical environmental factions. As a result, FSC standards have been endorsed by many environmental and nongovernmental organizations. Similarly, FSC certified wood products are increasingly favored by commercial builders and developers because using FSC-labeled wood helps in attaining LEED status from the U.S. Green Building Council of which we are an active member, nationally and locally in Idaho.
