Over the last fourteen years, Heritage Lumber has been reclaiming 1700's-1800's era timbers. Most of the recycled wood is carefully disassembled to preserve the tendons and mortis holes. Some competitors take shortcuts by pulling the building down then cutting the broken ends off with a chain saw. This rough practice destroys the artist's markings and fine tendon detail. Our process even preserves nail holes, insect scars, and weathering. The sheen of aged wood simply cannot be faked.
Barn Siding - Homespun wood preserves the history of an area and reminds us of our roots. Reclaimed barn siding can be used for flooring, ceilings, siding, paneling, stair treads, cabinetry, or trim. Wood weathered by the hard lives of Idaho’s pioneers can lend immense value to any structure.
Recycled Timbers - Recycled timber used as exposed beams add lean, austere lines to any room in the house.
Reclaimed Hand Hewn Siding - Reclaimed timbers can be hewn or rough sawn to make new siding. The siding looks freshly milled, yet maintains the darkened nail holes and the insect scarring that creates an antique aura. The fact that the wood is recycled means you can have your cake and eat it too. Beautiful homes can come from environmentally friendly products.
Hand Hewn Timbers - Hand hewn by our country's trailblazing fore-fathers in the 1700's and 1800's, these logs were cut from the land and shaped with a broad ax, a chisel and the rough, callused hands needed to create the agrarian living structures necessary to subsist on the land without the modern amenities of 21st century life. Heritage Lumber pays tribute to our nation’s cultural heritage. Our product reflects our traditions.
